L&D/PP Nurse

Overview

• Travel contract in Oxnard, California
• 13 weeks
• Nights, 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week

Unit

• L&D/PP
• 7 L&D beds
• 4 triage beds
• 2 overflow beds
• 27 postpartum beds
• 5-bed nursery

Required Qualifications

• RN
• 2 full years of experience
• Active BLS
• Active ACLS
• Active NRP
• Active AWHONN fetal monitoring
• Active CA license
• Able to circulate for C-sections
• L&D nurses must have postpartum experience

Preferred

• Stable
• Willing to take call
• At least one prior travel contract

Schedule / Operations

• 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule
• 3 shifts of floor-specific orientation
• First to float
• L&D floats to postpartum
• Postpartum floats to L&D
• L&D nurses also float to NICU for grower/feeders
• Postpartum nurses may help in NICU or L&D with tasks in scope

Clinical Setting

• High-risk deliveries
• Any gestational age
• EMT drop-offs
• Substance abuse / withdrawal
• No prenatal care
• Spanish-speaking patients common
