Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• NIHSS
• 2 years of ICU experience

Experience Preferences

• Prior travel experience is preferred
• First-time travelers should have 3+ years of ICU experience and Epic experience

Assignment Details

• Travelers must float within a 60-mile zone
• No home base facility
• May float to ICU, PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele
• Must be comfortable titrating all critical drips
• RNs are expected to read and interpret their own telemetry strips
• No monitor techs on the unit
• No nurse aides; sitter needs only
• Designated charge nurse on each unit
• Rare call/standby, typically for low census

Patient Care Setting

• Combination ICU float role covering MICU, SICU, TICU, CVICU, and similar units
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1 to 1:2, with possible flex to 1:3
• High-acuity patients may require 1:1 care

Scheduling Expectations

• Schedules are released 4–6 weeks in advance
• Weekend requirement: 6–9 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule
• May be asked to participate in holiday rotation
• Travelers are expected to be flexible to help fill staffing gaps
• Time-off requests must be submitted before the assignment starts

Orientation

• 1–2 days with a preceptor
• Clinicians must be in state for the week of orientation, even if first-day modules are remote

Dress Code

• Any color scrubs
