Virtual Monitor Tech - Phoenix, AZ

Position Overview

  • Perform remote surveillance of cardio-pulmonary rhythms for multiple locations via a central monitoring station.
  • Recognize, record, and report dangerous rhythm changes and arrhythmias following established protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor up to 45-60 patients simultaneously using advanced IT technology.
  • Work under the direction of a Registered Nurse in a centralized monitoring unit.
  • Follow proper communication channels for routine and emergency situations.
  • Strive to improve patient outcomes and department metrics.

Contract Details

  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Nights (12-hour shifts, 1900 - 0730)
  • Orientation: Must be available for 2-3 day shifts for orientation
  • Weekend requirement: Must work 4 weekend shifts per schedule (weekends defined as Friday/Saturday for night shift)
  • Holiday requirement: Yes
  • No call or standby requirement, but may occur if census drops
  • No set schedules
  • Floating: Opportunity to cross-train to Virtual Patient Companion or Clinical Connection Specialist roles

  • Virtual hospital setting (centralized clinical command center)
  • Strict no cell phone policy; hospital provides a work phone number
  • Hospital does not sign timesheets

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of telemetry technician experience, including experience within the last year
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
