Required Qualifications
- Surgical Technician (1 year of experience)
- Surgical Technician experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NBSTSA
- High school diploma
Job Responsibilities
- Assist with surgical procedures in scrubbing duties
- Prepare and maintain sterile supplies
- Create and maintain a sterile field
- Inspect sterile items for contamination before opening
- Anticipate equipment and supply needs before procedures begin
- Verify equipment is functioning before use
- Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical, and air-powered equipment according to manufacturer instructions
- Scrub all surgical procedures, including specialty surgeries such as sports medicine and trauma
- Assist RN with operative charge completion and recording of hardware used during procedures
- Collect specimens and cultures by verifying source and correct tissue identification with the surgeon
