Job Opportunity: RN - Progressive Critical Care Unit (PCU)

Job Description

• Work in a Progressive Critical Care Unit caring for medically delicate and surgically complex adult patients.
• Patient conditions include respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, complex traumas, and surgical complications.
• Average patient load: 3 high acuity patients.
• Competency in medical and surgical patient care required.
• Must be skilled in ACLS and advanced hemodynamics, including pressor usage per titration protocols.
• Experience with antihypertensive drips, sedative and narcan drips, thrombo-embolytics, arterial lines (a line), central venous pressure (CVP), external ventricular drain (EVD), orthopedic traction, infection prevention protocols, HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, and oxypendent.
• Nurses with large-scale adult PCU and community hospital ICU experience tend to perform well.
• Navy blue scrubs required.
• Epic EMR experience is required.
• Competency test required within 24 hours of submission.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York.
• Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, with at least some experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Experience with Epic electronic medical records (EMR).

• Local candidates from certain counties are not eligible.
• Must be able to provide an up-to-date email for competency testing.
• Position may require floating to other units (details not specified).
