Registered Nurse - Med Surg Telemetry

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide nursing care on a 42-bed Cardiac Medical Unit focused on Cardiac Telemetry.
• Patient ratio is approximately 1:6.
• Care for predominantly cardiac patients with conditions such as chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations, and various cardiac arrhythmias.
• Also care for medical patients with pneumonia, GI issues, COPD, diabetes, occasional stroke, and some surgical patients.
• Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals as needed.
• Work schedule includes every other weekend and holidays as required.
• Accepts 36 or 48 hours per week.
• Utilize Meditech EMR system.
• Dress code: Solid navy scrub colors.
• Parking is available.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience; 18 months of experience will be considered.
• At least 1 year of recent experience in Med Surg Telemetry within the last year.
• Current AHA BLS or Red Cross certification.

Additional Information

• This is a patient-facing clinical position.
• Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals.
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week.
