- Unit: Maternal Infant Unit
- Number of Beds: 24
- Number of Staff: 71
- Staff Types:
- Day Shift: labor nurse, nursery nurse, OB tech, secretary, leadership, educator
- Night Shift: labor nurse, nursery nurse, OB tech, secretary
- Patient Ratios:
- Labor: 1:1 (most of the time)
- Post-partum: 5-6:1
- Nursery: 5-6:1
- Equipment: GE fetal monitors
- EMR System: Meditech, CPN
Job Responsibilities
- Vaginal deliveries
- C-sections
- Care of antepartum patients
- Newborn and post-partum care
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years labor experience in an LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) unit with high birth volumes
Additional Information
- Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs; infant security badges are pink
- Schedule: Every third weekend required to work with 12 hours of call per 4-week schedule
