Job Description

• Provide care to Post Anesthesia Care patients in collaboration with Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, Surgical staff, and other personnel.
• Utilize the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act, AORN guidelines, and hospital policies.
• Demonstrate critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership for safe delivery of care.
• Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education.
• Delegate patient care priorities based on staff education and experience.
• Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel delivering patient care.

Work Environment

• Busy recovery room supporting multiple surgical modalities in an inpatient/outpatient surgical facility.
• No floating required.
• EMR system: MedHost, with majority paper charting.
• Number of beds: 9
• Patient ratio: 1:1 or 1:2
• Scrub color: Black if wearing own scrubs; Light Blue provided and must be worn if entering the Operating Room.

Shift Details

• Shift: Days, 4 shifts of 10 hours each (4x10's), varies based on department needs.
• On-call: Varies, no minimum or maximum.

Requirements

• Experience: 2-4 years as an RN.
• Licenses/Certifications: Arizona RN License, ACLS, BLS, and PALS required.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks.
