Travel RN Opportunity – Medical/Surgical Unit (Telemetry)

Location: Martinsville, Virginia
Facility Type: Acute-care hospital, 41-bed Medical Surgical Unit
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Specialty: Medical/Surgical - Telemetry
• Shift: Nights (7 PM – 7 AM)
• Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed
• Weekend Hours: Every other weekend / as needed
• Call Requirements: As needed
• Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Patient Population: All ages
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): Meditech

Required Qualifications

• Licensure: Valid RN license to practice in Virginia
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certification
  • Handle with Care training
• Experience: 1-2 years in a relevant clinical setting

• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, stressful environment
• Strong critical thinking and decisive judgment skills
• Flexibility to work all shift patterns including weekends and holidays
• Must be willing to float as needed within a 25-mile radius of the facility
• Must complete all required screenings and consent to random drug testing

• Orientation occurs bi-weekly on Tuesdays
