Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) – Temporary Position

Location: Ada, Oklahoma
Shift: Days
Hours per day: 8
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with physical functioning disorders under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
• Perform manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive/assistive devices as part of the rehabilitation plan.
• Assess patient progress and communicate with the supervising Physical Therapist to adjust treatments accordingly.
• Document treatment outcomes, patient progress, and all required clinical information in the electronic documentation system.
• Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, rehabilitation meetings, and required trainings or in-services.
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers.
• Support and supervise students under the guidance of the Physical Therapist.
• Assist in obtaining necessary durable medical equipment (DME) or supplies as needed.
• Adhere to APTA and state-required practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics.

Required Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of Oklahoma.
• Minimum of 1 year of PTA experience.
• Experience in Long Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation settings.
• New graduates considered if they have completed Level II clinical experience (not just Level I observation).
• Submission requirements include a current resume, skills checklist within the past year, and 0-1 professional reference at time of submission.
