Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool
Location
- State: South Carolina
- City: Charleston
- Facility: Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital, Medical University of South Carolina
Employment Details
- Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 3x12 hour nights (7 PM - 7:30 AM), 36 hours/week
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, holiday rotation
- Patient Ratios: 1:2/1:3
- Floating: Yes, RN will float to all Pediatric units in SJCH (CVPICU, NICU, PICU)
Qualifications
- Experience Required: 2 years of Pediatric ICU experience
- License Required: South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact State RN License
- Certifications Required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA only
- Preferred Experience: ECMO, CRRT
Additional Information
- Local Candidates: Accepted on a case-by-case basis
- RTO Restrictions: All RTO must be submitted at the time of submission; approval based on unit needs
- Guaranteed Hours: Facility allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
Required Documentation
- Identification:
- Copy of Driver's License
- Copy of Social Security Card
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Required for specific units
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - As required
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - Not required for ER RNs
- Health Documents:
- Physical Exam
- Fit Mask Test
- Tdap Vaccine (within 10 years)
- Negative TB or Chest X-Ray
- Drug Testing (10 panel within 90 days)
- Flu Seasonal Vaccination/Documentation (for 2024-25 season)
- Background Check: Required within 30 days of start and updated for every contract renewal/extension
