Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool

Employment Details

• Type: Travel/Contract
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 3x12 hour nights (7 PM - 7:30 AM), 36 hours/week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, holiday rotation
• Patient Ratios: 1:2/1:3
• Floating: Yes, RN will float to all Pediatric units in SJCH (CVPICU, NICU, PICU)

Qualifications

• Experience Required: 2 years of Pediatric ICU experience
• License Required: South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact State RN License
• Certifications Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA only
• Preferred Experience: ECMO, CRRT

Additional Information

• Local Candidates: Accepted on a case-by-case basis
• RTO Restrictions: All RTO must be submitted at the time of submission; approval based on unit needs
• Guaranteed Hours: Facility allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks

Required Documentation

• Identification:

  • Copy of Driver's License
  • Copy of Social Security Card
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Required for specific units
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - As required
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - Not required for ER RNs
• Health Documents:

  • Physical Exam
  • Fit Mask Test
  • Tdap Vaccine (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB or Chest X-Ray
  • Drug Testing (10 panel within 90 days)
  • Flu Seasonal Vaccination/Documentation (for 2024-25 season)
• Background Check: Required within 30 days of start and updated for every contract renewal/extension
