Registered Nurse - Step down

Location: Burlingame, California Employment Type: Travel/Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Day (3x12 Hours) 7:00 to 19:00. Nights 19:00 to 07:30, 3 x 12-hour shifts, with every other weekend required Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• 1 year of Stepdown experience, obtained within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Certification)
• Experience working with medical patients
• Experience working with post-cardiac cath patients
• Experience working with neuro patients
• Experience with high-flow O2 therapy
• Experience with BiPAP
• Experience with heparin infusions
• Experience with diltiazem
• Experience with amiodarone
• ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience
• Cardiology experience

Onboarding Requirements

• Background check covering the last 7 years, including sex offender, exclusion database (OIG, SAM, OFAC, FACIS III), and education verification
• Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (no cannabinoids for new screens in California)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• TB screening questionnaire within 90 days of start, plus a negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
• Immunization documentation (Tdap, measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, varicella), or an approved exemption
• Annual flu vaccination or declination documentation during flu season
• Fit test for respirator masks, plus an in-person color blind exam
• Employment history of 7 years with no gaps, with work history verification
• Unit-specific skills checklist and competency exams
• ICU and MS/Tele RNs at some locations must take an onsite EKG exam after start
