Schedule

• Day shift, Monday to Friday, 7:00 to 17:30 (4x10-hour shifts, 40 hours per week)
• On call immediately after shifts, plus 24-hour on call on weekends

Experience

• Required: 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience
• Required: 5 years as a critical care RN
• Preferred: Cath Lab experience
• Accepts first-time travelers

Unit Information

• Patient diagnoses: Renal failure, pulmonary issues, biopsies, chest tubes, dialysis, catheters, lumbar puncture, kyphoplasty
• Procedure rooms: 1 procedure room, 2 recovery bays, 2 CT rooms, 1 bronchoscopy room
• Equipment: CT procedures, fluoroscopy

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Interventional Radiology experience (2 years)
• Interventional Radiology experience within the last year
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIHSS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with gastrostomy tube placement
• Experience with liver biopsy
• Experience with paracentesis
• Experience assisting with embolization procedures
• Experience with nephrostomy
• Experience with renal angiography
• Experience with chest tube placement
• Experience with lung biopsy
• Experience with thoracentesis
• Experience with non-tunneled central venous access and PICC placement

Health and Compliance

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required annually)
• Negative TB test (PPD, QuantiFERON Gold, or T-SPOT) within 90 days of start; negative chest X-ray within 5 years of start if positive result; TB questionnaire required in lieu of annual TB test
• Measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella immunity (vaccines, titer, or declination; birth before 1957 exempt for measles, mumps, and rubella)
• Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (not required annually)
• Flu vaccine or declination documented November 1 to March 31; unvaccinated staff must wear a mask during respiratory season
• COVID vaccine or declination during season

Background and Identity

• 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually (includes Social Security trace, county searches, nationwide sex offender search, and education verification)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks, annually
• Education verification of highest level (copy of diploma or transcript accepted if needed)
• Government-issued photo ID required
• Online identity verification must be completed before starting

Documentation

• 2 professional references within 3 years of start
• Employment application
• Skills checklist, annually
• Facility onboarding forms, including code of conduct, abuse reporting acknowledgment, conflict of interest acknowledgment, new hire input form, policy acknowledgment, self-identification form, and annual regulatory attestation (COVID declination form if applicable)
