Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
• Specialty: Surgical Services
• Day shift: 4x10 hours, 6:45 AM–7:15 PM
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Floating is required based on facility needs
• On call is required, including weekday call and weekend call rotations
• First-timers are accepted
• Locals are accepted

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (2 years of experience)
• Certified Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross or RQI
• CST or NBSTSA or NCCT
• Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
• Experience working with General Surgery patients
• Experience working with Neuro patients
• Experience working with Transplant patients
• Experience working with Vascular patients
• Experience in the general operating room (OR)
• Must have experience scrubbing total joint procedures

• Operating Room has approximately 14 rooms
• Department serves adult and geriatric patients
• Scrubs are provided by the facility

Procedures / Case Mix

• General Surgery procedures include appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laparoscopic cases, thyroidectomy, and Whipple procedures
• Neuro procedures include ALIF, cervical fusion, craniotomy, kyphoplasty, laminectomy/discectomy, and lumbar fusion
• Orthopedic experience includes total hip and knee replacements, fracture procedures, arthroscopy, and spinal fusion
• Vascular experience includes carotid angioplasty/stenting, carotid endarterectomy, AV fistula repair, femoral-popliteal bypass, and abdominal aortic aneurysm repair
• Transplant experience includes heart, kidney, liver, lung, and organ-donation procedures
