Job Description
- ASAP start for backfill need.
- Assignment duration: 16-32 weeks.
- Must be flexible with schedule, including working a minimum of every other weekend and additional weekends as required.
- Provide support in nursery and Emergency Room as needed.
- Distance measured as straight line, not driving distance.
Requirements
- Specialty: Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of Respiratory Therapy experience (higher value between 2-3 years and 2 years is 3 years).
- Neonatal/Pediatric: NRP certification required or at least some experience/exposure to neonatal/pediatric population.
- Licensing: New York state license or proof of application with applied date required at time of submission (NY licensing takes 6-8 weeks).
- EMR Experience: EPIC experience within the past 2 years is required and non-negotiable.
- Must be flexible to work Monday through Sunday with no block schedules.
- All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained.
- Complete work history including bed count, EMR, and facility type is required for submission.
Certifications & Compliance
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA certified.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA certified.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA certified.
- Tech Certification Verification - must be run within 30 days of assignment start.
- State License Verification - primary source within 30 days of start and upon expiration.
- NURSYS Verification (for RN, LPN/LVN, AP) - within 30 days of start and updated annually.
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (annual HIPAA requirement).
- Background Check within 30 days of start covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years.
- Education Verification as required.
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as required.
- Color Blind Testing Online.
- Competency Exam as required by specialty.
- Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for Home Health and Hospice specialties.
- COVID-19 Vaccination or declination required.
- Flu Seasonal Vaccination or exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31).
- Pneumonia Vaccination or declination required for NY facilities.
- Drug Testing within last 12 months (required for NY facilities).
- Physical Exam within 12 months of start.
- N95 Fit Mask Test prior to assignment and updated annually.
Additional Requirements
- Reliable personal or rental vehicle strongly recommended (public transportation not accessible).
- Vehicles should have all-season or snow tires during November through April.
- Must complete EPIC and Cornerstone modules prior to start.
- Must provide 2 professional references verified from assignments within the last 3 years.
- Skills Checklist within 12 months.
- 2-year verification of most recent clinical work history.
- Time-sensitive facility-specific documents such as photo for badge, auto registration form, emergency contact form, and various consent forms must be completed as required.
- Must comply with New York State-specific requirements including Staff Exclusion List and Central Registry checks if applicable.
