Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 1+ year in specialty (Radiology / Cardiology)
- Licenses/Certifications:
- ARRT (R) certification required
- New Jersey state license required
- Skills/Experience:
- Experience with Diagnostic X-ray, OR, C-arm required
- O-arm experience preferred
- Experience with portable X-ray equipment
- Familiarity with Philips, Siemens, and GE equipment
- EPIC charting experience required
- Uniform: Black scrubs required
- Scheduling:
- Block/special scheduling only if approved at booking
- All requests for time off (RTO) and scheduling must be submitted with application
- Missed shifts must be made up within the same week; multiple call outs may extend contract length
Required Documentation & Compliance
Background Checks:
- Criminal background check within 30 days of start
- Must include all aliases, locations lived/worked in past 7 years, SS trace, nationwide, sex offender, federal, OFAC, FACIS Level 3
- Pending background checks require signed attestation at start
- MVR/DMV hits do not require facility review for this location
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and for renewals
- New Jersey Department of Treasury Exclusions List check required within 30 days of start and for extensions
Health Documents:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start (specific testing protocols apply)
- Physical exam within 12 months, cleared to perform essential job functions and free of communicable disease
- Drug screen (10-panel urine) within 30 days of start
- Seasonal influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
- Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (positive titer or vaccine compliance)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within past 10 years
- Fit test and respiratory medical clearance required prior to start (on-site fit testing mandatory)
- Latex allergy questionnaire and screening as applicable
- Color blindness exam if job tasks require color discrimination
Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications required as applicable
- Other certifications (NRP, PALS, CHEMO, EFM) may be required depending on unit assignment—confirm with program coordinator
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification required for ER, Pediatric ER, and Behavioral Health RNs (not applicable for X-Ray Tech)
- NIH Stroke Certification required for certain adult critical care specialties (not typically required for X-Ray Tech)
Competency Exams:
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required for all RNs and LPNs (not applicable for X-Ray Tech)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for specific units (not applicable for X-Ray Tech)
- Color blind testing and other competency exams as applicable
Additional Requirements
- Employment application or resume with 7 years of work history
- Two references within the last 2 years, including at least one managerial reference
- Completion of facility-specific floating policy acknowledgment
- Completion of annual education sign-off and safety manual acknowledgment
- Compliance with facility-specific orientation and training requirements
