Location: Nashua, New Hampshire
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift Options:
    • 2x10 hour shifts (6:30 AM - 5:00 PM) in Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC)
    • 2x8 hour shifts (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM) in Hospital Operating Room (OR)
  • Call Requirement: None
  • Float Requirement: Must float between ASC and hospital OR
  • Weekend Requirement: None
  • Unit Systems: Omnicell (medication, documentation, communication)
  • Scrubs: Any color allowed

Experience Requirements

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (Operating Room)
  • Minimum Years of Experience: Not explicitly stated, but prior travel experience is required (unit does not accept first-time travelers)

Certifications Required

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA Provider only
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA Provider only

  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)

  • Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing: Required for certain units (including Basic Dysrhythmia EKG exam)
  • Tech Certification Verification: As applicable

Competency Exams

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (for internal purposes)
  • Competency Exam (for internal purposes)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing for specific units; passing score 80%+ required

Background and Screening Requirements

  • Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days of start, including:
    • Social Security Verification
    • National Sex Offender Registry
    • National Criminal Search
    • FACIS L3
    • Education Verification
    • Criminal county/state searches (excluding NH counties; NH State Police Search required instead)
    • BEAS (Bureau of Elderly and Adult Services) Background Report for NH placements
    • Motor Vehicle Background Check (if applicable)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks: Must be run within 30 days of start
  • Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 14 days prior to start (7-day grace period allowed)
  • References: Two current professional references within last 3 years, including one supervisor reference
  • Employment Application and Skills Checklist: Required
  • Internal Evaluation: Required annually for travelers with Aya or agency for 1+ year

Health and Immunization Requirements

  • Physical Exam: Within 1 year prior to start
  • Fit Mask Test: Annual fit test required for clinical candidates (N95 or equivalent masks)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap: Vaccine within last 10 years required; medical or religious exemptions allowed with documentation
  • Negative TB or Chest X-Ray: True 2-step PPD, Qgold, or Tspot within 1 year prior to start; special instructions for past positive TB tests
  • TB Questionnaire: Required for all travelers
  • Immunizations:
    • Rubeola (Measles) - immune titer or 2 vaccines
    • Mumps - immune titer or 2 vaccines
    • Rubella - immune titer or 2 vaccines
    • Hepatitis B - immune titer or 3 vaccines; declinations accepted with waiver
    • Varicella - immune titer or 2 vaccines (history of disease not accepted)
  • Flu Vaccination: Required during October 31 - April 1 period; exemptions allowed with documentation and approval
  • RespSafety Clearance: Required for all clinical travelers (virtual questionnaire reviewed by licensed healthcare professional)

Additional Notes

  • Travelers who have ever been former employees of the associated health system are not considered.
  • Candidates must be willing to float between ASC and hospital OR.
  • Pass/fail testing (EKG/Dysrhythmia) is required onsite for certain units within the health system.
  • Various state and facility-specific releases and background checks are required, including NH Statewide Release and SSA Release.
  • Facility requires documentation of OSHA education and compliance attestations.
  • Proof of auto insurance required for Home Health and Hospice Care candidates (not applicable here).

This position is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses with prior travel experience who are flexible with floating between surgical units and meet comprehensive certification, background, and health requirements.
