Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Ellijay, Georgia

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)

• Contract Length: 12 weeks
• Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend
• Call: None
• Floating: Within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Minimum Experience: 2 years (first-time travelers accepted)

Assignment Expectations

• Holiday Work:

  • If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, traveler is expected to work it.
  • If 2 major holidays fall, traveler must work both.
  • If 3 major holidays fall, traveler must work 2 of them.
• Major Holidays Include:
  Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day
• Orientation: Bi-weekly orientation schedule; full compliance required to start on time. Delays in compliance push start by 2 weeks.
• Non-Billable Orientation Hours: Determined by contract length (e.g., 12 hours for 12-week assignment).
• Locals Accepted: Same pay rate as travelers.

Required Experience & Certifications

• Minimum 2 years nursing experience.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required for ER.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) may be required depending on specialty.
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) course required within a few months of hire (no renewal required).
• State Nursing License (Georgia) verification required.
• NURSYS verification within 30 days prior to start.
• NIH Stroke Certification may be required depending on specialty.
• Allied Annual License Verification (if applicable).
• Other certifications may be required based on specialty and unit.

Compliance & Competency Requirements

• Background check required within 30 days of start, including criminal, sex offender, education verification, and others.
• Education verification required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process.
• Competency exams required by Aya (not client) for medication/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG, and general nursing/allied competencies.
• Color Blind Testing required for all candidates.
• Candidate must review and sign Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance policies prior to start.

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (Aya requirement).
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months.
• TB Questionnaire required annually.
• Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (series, titer, or declination)
• Seasonal Flu Vaccination or Declination required annually.
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; cannot start with results pending.

Documentation & History

• Two clinical references required.
• Skills checklist updated within 12 months.
• Verification of most recent work history required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process.
