Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Facility: Acute Care Hospital

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Shift: Night Shift, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, every other weekend
• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA only, required for all clinical candidates
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): AHA only, required for specific units including DOU
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): AHA only, required for certain units (not required for CNAs)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required for NICU, Labor & Delivery
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Required for Labor & Delivery, must be updated every 3 years
• State License: California primary source verification required
• IV Certification: Required for LVNs
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB): Required for CNAs and RNs in ER, Psych, or Behavioral Health (in-person or hybrid course only)
• NIH Stroke Certification: Required for all RNs (except CNAs and LVNs), must be updated annually
• Assault Response Certification (ARC): Required for Behavioral Health, must be completed prior to start

Required Competencies

• Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (passing score 85%)
• Color Blind Testing
• Competency Exam (passing score 85%)
• Age Specific Competency Exam (annual update required)
• Core Part I, II, III (annual update required)

Required Documentation & Health Requirements

• I9 Documentation
• Photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Background Check: 7-year criminal search, nationwide, sex offender registry, within 30 days of start
• California Medi-Cal Search: Must be run every 30 days until contract completion
• Physical Exam: Within 30 days of start, must be clear to work without restrictions
• Immunizations/Vaccines:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within last 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (Qgold, Tspot, or 2-step PPD within 30 days)
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Titer or 2 vaccines with appropriate boosters if low titer
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer or declination form (vaccine record not accepted)
  • Varicella: Titer or 2 vaccines required
• Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel within 30 days of start (no marijuana or THC allowed)
• Seasonal Vaccinations:

  • Flu vaccine or declination required annually (deadline Oct 31)
  • COVID vaccine or declination required annually (deadline Oct 31)
  • Masking required if not vaccinated for flu and COVID during season
• References: Two recent employment references required
