- Unit Focus: ICU with a high volume of Neuro patients
- Floating: May float to other units within scope of practice, including other campuses; flexibility required with approximately 1.5 hours notice prior to shift start
- Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend and as needed by unit
- On Call: As needed
Required Experience
- Minimum 3+ years of RN ICU experience
- Must be comfortable and proficient with Neuro ICU patients
- Prior travel experience: Required for candidates traveling more than one year (implied expectation for travel nurses to be flexible)
Required Licenses and Certifications
- Valid California RN License
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
Additional Certifications (position-dependent, verify if required)
- CCRN (Critical Care RN)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
- NIH Stroke Certification
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check including SSN trace, county searches, nationwide sex offender search, education verification, and FACIS Level 3 screening
- EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, OFAC sanctions list, Medi-Cal Suspended and Ineligible Provider List checks as applicable
- Education verification (Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred)
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (with accommodations for religious exemptions or facial hair)
- Immunizations and titers:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B vaccination or declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30)
- Respiratory safety clearance (renewed annually)
- Color blindness exam (in-person, if applicable)
