- Schedule: Every other weekend required
- Floating: Will float within scope to meet facility needs; may float between like units
- Patient Diagnoses: Normal Spontaneous Delivery (NSD), C-section, Chorioamnionitis, Chronic Hypertension, Diabetes
- Equipment Experience: Sara Steady, Bedside Scale, Bladder Scanner, Bilimeter, Breast Pump
- Locals Accepted: Yes
- Block Scheduling: Open to accommodating block schedule (Yes/No)
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA required; RQI and AHA instructor cards acceptable. Certificates expiring within a month of start require renewal confirmation.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required for L&D, Mother-Baby, Newborn, NICU, Nursery, Antepartum, and Special Care Nursery. AHA required; RQI and AHA instructor cards acceptable.
- AWHONN Intermediate: Required (related to fetal monitoring and obstetric nursing).
- Additional Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on unit (confirm with program coordinator).
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required for pediatric units (confirm with program coordinator).
- CHEMO certification not required for this role.
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) beginner level required for Mother-Baby, Couplet Care, Postpartum, and Labor & Delivery RNs. AWHONN certificate preferred.
Required Background and Compliance
- Background Check: Criminal background check required within 30 days of start. Must include all aliases and locations worked/lived in past 7 years. No open cases allowed.
- Drug Screen: 10-panel urine drug screen required within 30 days of start.
- Health Documents:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start.
- Physical exam within 12 months of start, cleared to perform essential job functions and free of communicable disease.
- Influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually.
- Hepatitis B immunity titer required; if non-immune, must comply with vaccine series or declination statement.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) and Varicella immunity documentation required.
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within past 10 years required.
- Respiratory medical clearance and fit test required prior to start.
- Latex allergy screening questionnaire required if job tasks involve glove use or respirator use.
- Color blindness exam required if job tasks require color discrimination.
Competency and Testing Requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required for all RNs; must complete first attempt within 72 hours of signing.
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required for adult critical care, ED, telemetry, and related units; must complete first attempt within 72 hours of signing.
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication): Pharmacology and basic EKG exams required for clinical staff in specified units. Candidates have 3 attempts to pass.
- Color Blind Testing: Required within one year of start if applicable.
Additional Requirements
- References: Two references within the last 2 years required; at least one must be managerial.
- Employment History: Resume or employment application with 7 years of work history required.
- Skills Checklist: Must be completed and updated annually.
- Floating Policy: Must complete floating policy for every new assignment or site transfer.
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB): Required for ER, Pediatric ER, and Behavioral Health RNs. Online portion must be completed prior to start; in-person portion within 14 days of start.

- Candidates must have at least 2 years of specialty experience.
- Prior travel experience is required; first-time travelers will not be accepted.
- Every other weekend work is mandatory.
- Must hold current and valid certifications as listed.
- Must comply with all health and background screening requirements prior to start.
- Floating between like units is expected as needed.
