Job Opportunity: Therapy/Rehabilitation - Travel/Contract

Location: San Diego, California
Contract Length: 20 weeks (interpreted from 20)
Shift:

  • Will consider either 5x8 hour shifts or 4x10 hour shifts, Monday through Friday

Requirements

  • Experience:
    • Minimum 3 years of experience in specialty
    • Experience working with children aged 0-3 years
    • Experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
    • Experience in a children’s hospital setting
    • Pediatric outpatient experience
  • Licensure & Certifications:
    • California state license
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
    • CCC-SLP (Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology) required
    • VitalStim certification preferred (not required)
  • Additional Notes:
    • School experience does not count toward experience for this position and will not be considered

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Valid photo ID (front and back) must be presented on the first day
  • Background checks within 30 days of start date, including criminal background checks for all counties lived/worked in last 7 years

  • Various certifications and competency exams required or preferred, including but not limited to:
    • BLS (AHA only)

  • Professional license verification within 30 days of start
  • NPI number must be provided if available

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, DO, NP, PA, or APRN, confirming good health without restrictions
  • Fit test for N95 masks within 1 year of start (not required for non-clinical roles)
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • Tdap vaccine within 10 years (declinations not accepted)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months or documentation of prior positive with follow-up
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: positive titer or 2 vaccines required
    • Hepatitis B series or titer (titer preferred) required; can start series pending if 3rd dose within 30 days after start
  • Negative 9-panel drug test (non-THC) within 30 days of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required starting October 31 through end of flu season (declinations not accepted)
  • References: 2 supervisory references verified within 1 year of start from clinical leadership (director, supervisor, or manager)
  • Employment application covering full 7 years with explanations for gaps over 6 months

  • Candidates must submit a badge photo meeting specific requirements (recent, plain background, JPEG format) by the Wednesday prior to start
  • Various competency exams required with minimum passing scores (e.g., medication calculation test with 100% for RNs, pediatric competency exams)
  • Some certifications and trainings may be completed onsite after start (e.g., MCPP for Behavioral Health units)
  • Candidates must comply with facility policies including fingernail hygiene, professional accountability, and traveler policy acknowledgments
