Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Interventional Radiology

Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks)

Job Details

• Specialty: Interventional Radiology (IR)
• Shift: 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts (5x8 Days)
• Call: Required every other weekend (Friday 4:30 PM - Monday 8:00 AM)
• On-Call: Encouraged to pick up shifts if possible; call-in time is 15 minutes prior (hard stop)
• Floating: Must be able to float to PACU/Recovery and occasionally to IR at a nearby hospital (15 minutes away)
• Living Requirement: Must live within 15 minutes of the facility

Experience & Requirements

• Years of Experience: Minimum 3 years in Interventional Radiology
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required (1st time travelers are welcome)
• Patient Age Group: Pediatrics through Geriatrics
• Staffing Ratio: 1:1

Certifications Required

• AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) — TCAR preferred
• Skills in Conscious Sedation

Role & Responsibilities

• Primary role in Interventional Radiology with some floating to Nuclear Medicine
• Cross-training opportunities available for PACU if interested
• Average procedures per nurse per day: 3-10
• One angiography suite available
• Nurses often work in pairs during sedation, sharing responsibilities

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID
• I9 or attestation
• Emergency contact form
• E-Verify or attestation
• Background checks including 7-year history, sex offender, FACIS, and state-specific searches
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, with additional requirements for positive or allergy cases
• Drug screening (10 panel) within 1 year, updated annually
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
• COVID vaccination series or approved exemption required
• Various facility-specific documents and competency validations prior to start

Additional Notes

• Advanced EKG exam required as part of pre-start testing (passing score 80%)
• Trauma education: 4 hours annually or current TNCC/TCAR certification
• Must complete medication and competency exams with an 80% passing score
• Facility offers trauma training modules and cross-training opportunities
• Mask mandate applies for those with flu vaccine exemptions
