PCU Registered Nurse

Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Lees Summit, Missouri
• Day shift: 3x12 hours, 6:45 to 19:15
• 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• Unit census: 30
• Number of rooms: 30
• Patient ratio: 1:5
• First-timers accepted
• Regular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed
• Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments may be needed per unit
• Weekend requirement: 8 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule period, with a combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• No on-call
• No block schedule
• No locals; home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility
• No more than 7 days of RTO

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Telemetry experience
• Must have a government-issued ID
• Must pass a criminal background check
• Must complete education verification
• Must complete state-specific background searches and screenings required for Missouri placements
• Must complete a unit-specific competency exam
• Must complete a dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam
• Must complete a medication test/pharmacology competency exam
• Must complete a physical exam within 1 year of start
• Must complete fit testing
• Must provide negative TB documentation or chest x-ray documentation
• Must provide Tdap documentation or declination
• Must provide flu vaccination documentation or exemption during flu season
• Must provide two professional references
• Must complete a skills checklist within 1 year of start
• Must complete employment application
• Must complete required facility documents and acknowledgements before start

Preferred

• ACLS
• Supervisors within the last year are preferred as references

• Stroke, heart failure, respiratory failure, pneumonia, GI bleed, syncope, TIA, falls, COVID, flu, Cdiff
• CBI
• Post-surgical patients needing higher-level monitoring
