Registered Nurse – Outpatient Clinic Infusion (Ohio, Columbus)
Job Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day shift, 4 x 10-hour shifts (07:30 to 18:00)
- Schedule: No weekends or holidays
- Patient Demographics: Adults and geriatrics
- Setting: Outpatient clinic infusion with 46 rooms
- Documentation System: EPIC
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
- Minimum 2 years of oncology nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Chemotherapy certification through ONS or ONCC
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience in outpatient and clinic settings
- Infusion nursing experience
- Proficiency with EPIC documentation system
Required Health Documents and Immunizations
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year (or TB questionnaire annually)
- Tdap vaccine (adult dose after age 11/12)
- 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for measles, mumps, and rubella (with boosters if low titer)
- Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable)
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer (medical exemption requires documentation)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (new travelers cannot start with pending results)
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
- Fit mask test annually for patient-facing roles (not required for outpatient clinics but may be requested onsite if needed)
Patient Diagnoses Commonly Encountered
- Genitourinary cancers: kidney, bladder, prostate, testicular
- Hematology: lymphoma, multiple myeloma, chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL)
- Sarcoma
Additional Requirements
- 2 professional references required; at least one must be from a manager or formal leadership
- Employment application and skills checklist required
- Annual review and signing of dress code, hand hygiene, ethics, and compliance policies
- Fraud, waste, and abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually
Notes
- Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers are not accepted for this role.
- Candidates must complete all credentialing and background checks prior to start.
- Fingerprinting results must be clear and are time-sensitive; delays may impact start date.
- Facility uses EPIC for documentation; familiarity is mandatory.
This position is ideal for experienced outpatient infusion RNs with chemotherapy certification seeking a travel contract in a no-weekend, no-holiday schedule.
