Shift: Nights (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Position involves working as a Certified OB Tech on night shifts.
• Requires 2 years of experience in Surgical Services.
• Must hold current certification relevant to the role.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Surgical Services.
• Current certification as a Certified OB Tech.
• Valid BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• Must pass a standard background check including:

  • 7-year location history search
  • Sex offender registry check
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Education verification (transcript, diploma, or equivalent) required.
• Fire Card issued by an LAFD-approved instructor must be obtained within 30 days of start (Blue Fire Card only; Red card not accepted).
• Completion of facility-required de-escalation and assault response training within 30 days of start.
• Must complete medication and pharmacology competency exams as applicable.
• Cardiac rhythm identification (Basic Dysrhythmia) competency required within 1 year prior to start.
• Physical exam clearance within the past year.
• Fit mask testing within 12 months prior to start (acceptable masks: 3M Aura 9205+ or 3M 1860 Small). Onsite PAPR testing available if fit test is failed.
• Required immunizations and titers with no declinations accepted for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (3-vaccine series or positive titer)
  • Varicella
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months (QGold, Tspot, or 2-step PPD).
• TB questionnaire required within 14 days of start.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (September - March).
• COVID vaccination plus booster or documented declination.
• 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start.
• Color vision test (14-plate Ishihara) required.

Additional Requirements

• Must complete facility-specific orientation checklists within the first 30 days.
• Provide a passport-style photo for badge issuance.
• Submit employment application and professional references as required.
• Must sign facility-required agreements including arbitration and voluntary meal waiver.
• Access request forms and other facility-specific documentation must be completed.

Summary

This is a night shift travel contract for a Certified OB Tech with at least 2 years of surgical services experience. The role requires multiple certifications, immunizations, and compliance with extensive background and health screenings. Candidates must be prepared to complete facility-specific training and documentation promptly after starting.
