ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - New Haven, Connecticut

Position Overview

Specialty: Registered Nurse (Neuro ICU)
Location: New Haven, CT
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night (4 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
Patient Ratio: Average 1:2 (days and nights)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Floating: Floating within scope to meet facility needs is required
Block Schedule: Not accommodated
On-call: Not required
Pending License: Accepted
Guaranteed Hours: Yes
Neuro ICU experience is required

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut
Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, with ICU experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Certifications:
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Pros

Always given very easy assignments. Their MICU is combined with the MICU stepdown so travelers were put in stepdown once a week but it’s a 1:3 ratio there and assignments were fair

Cons

Very large unit so hard to get to know everyone/find people to help sometimes
