Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - CCU
Location: Seattle, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (3 shifts per week, 10 hours each, 11:00 AM - 9:30 PM)
Patient Ratio: 1 Nurse to 3 Patients
Unit Description
- Interventional Cardiac / Procedure Unit
- Care for interventional cardiac patients including pre/post invasive and diagnostic procedures such as cardioversion, angiogram, elective PCI, EP patients (ablation, lead placement, pacer placement), pre-TAVR & Mitral Clip, and post-op recovery for structural heart procedures discharged same day.
- Procedures include TEE, cardioversion, procedure sedation, blood/blood products administration, defibrillation, epicardial pacer management, sheath removal, telemetry interpretation, heparin and insulin management.
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty (Interventional Cardiac Nursing)
- Experience with interventional cardiac patients and procedures
- Proficient in IV skills, sheath pull, stable drip management
- Skilled in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Must be flexible and willing to float to like units
- No weekends, holidays, or on-call required
- First-time travelers not accepted
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
Licensure
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Washington State
- Compact license holders are accepted if active
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card (as applicable)
- Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
- Education verification (nursing degree)
- NURSYS verification for RN license
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Immunizations and health screenings including:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years (declination accepted)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
- COVID-19 vaccination record preferred (declinations not required)
- Drug screening (9-panel) within 12 months
- Respiratory safety clearance for respirator use (annual)
- Fit mask test (annual, travel only)
- References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years
Additional Requirements
- Must complete annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
- Must complete Epic training modules as required by the facility
- Must acknowledge and comply with floating policy
- Passport-style badge photo with neutral background required
Requirements / Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State
- Minimum 2 years of Coronary Care Unit (CCU) experience, with at least 1 year within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

- Floating to similar units is mandatory, flexibility is essential
