Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract

Location: Prestonsburg, Kentucky
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
• Shift: Day shift, 4 days a week, 10-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
• Workweek: 40 hours
• Schedule: Monday to Friday with 1 rotating weekday off weekly
• Call Requirement: 8-15 days per month, including 1 weekend every 3 weeks
• Must respond within 30 minutes for STEMI alerts
• Call team consists of 2 RNs and 1 Radiology Tech
• Work in 2 Cath Labs plus rotation in EP Lab
• Average procedures: 8–10 per day
• STEMI cases: 6–8 per month
• Scrubs and lead apron provided

Responsibilities

• Table panning and scrubbing for diagnostic and interventional cardiology cases
• Assist with devices/tools such as Shockwave, Balloon Pump, Impella, EKOS, Penumbra, ACIST injector
• Assist with device implants including pacemakers and ICDs (single, dual, Bi-V) and peripheral diagnostics/interventions
• Cross-training available in EP (ablations); EP experience preferred
• Support procedures using both radial and groin access

Required Qualifications

• Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Kentucky
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, including experience within the last year
• Current ARRT certification
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS certification
• Valid Driver's License

Additional Requirements & Compliance

• Must provide 2 professional references within 1 year of start date (supervisor or higher; one reference can be a Charge RN)
• Complete employment application/resume with education and work history
• 7-year work history verification required (via 3rd-party vendor or attestation letters)
• Annual physical exam or physician note within 1 year prior to start, stating clearance to work without restrictions
• Drug testing within 30 days of start, using specified 9-panel bundle (no THC) with expanded opiates and oxycodone
• Negative TB test (QuantiFERON blood test) within 1 year prior to start; T-Spot/PPD not accepted
• Proof of immunizations or titers for MMR (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B, and Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (Td not accepted)
• Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season; exemption requests must be submitted within 48 hours of offer acceptance
• Fit mask test to be completed onsite; PAPRs not accommodated for facial hair; medical/religious exemptions must be submitted on day one
• Completion of facility-specific orientation and safety manual acknowledgment
• Medication, Dysrhythmia/EKG, and other competency exams required as applicable, renewed annually
• Background checks including national criminal, sex offender, fugitive, violent offender databases, and county searches for last 7 years
• Verification of professional license through primary source prior to start
• Must submit a copy of a current and valid government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver’s license) with application

This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab Techs with strong interventional cardiology skills, who are comfortable with call responsibilities and STEMI alert response, and who meet licensure and certification requirements.
