Registered Nurse — Transplant

Job Overview

  • Travel/contract role in Omaha, Nebraska
  • Day shift: 4x12 hours, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • 36- or 48-hour weekly schedule option available
  • Adult medical-surgical/telemetry and progressive care unit serving pre- and post-transplant patients

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Nebraska
  • Transplant experience with 2 years of experience
  • Transplant experience within the last year
  • One completed travel assignment
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Driver's License
  • 2 years of prior experience in a large, urban hospital
  • Experience with Epic

Preferred Qualifications

  • NIH Stroke Certification
  • CPI

Schedule / Assignment Details

  • Travelers are first to float
  • Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period
  • Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
  • Up to 2 weeks of requested time off permitted
  • RTO must be submitted with the application
  • RTO blackout dates: 6/11/26–6/22/26

Unit Notes

  • 36-bed unit
  • Typical ratios: 1:5 days, 1:6 nights; rare 1:7 nights
  • Drips are required on all floors
  • Adolescent patients age 15 and older may be on the unit but are cared for by core staff only

Compliance / Onboarding

  • Pending license accepted; if not in hand at submission, start will be booked six weeks out
  • Government-issued photo ID required
  • Background check, education verification, state-specific search, references, skills checklist, annual physical, fit test, TB documentation, MMR, varicella, hepatitis B, drug screen, flu documentation, COVID documentation, and other standard onboarding items are required per facility process

  • Scrubs are mandatory: Steele gray with logo
  • Parking is available for a fee
