Registered Nurse – Behavioral Health (Travel/Contract)

Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 36

Job Description

• Specialty areas: Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, Behavioral Health
• Patient-to-nurse ratio: 1:5-6
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: Required to float within scope to meet facility needs between like units
• Block scheduling: Not accommodated
• Local candidates: Not accepted (50-mile radius rule)
• Pending license: Not accepted
• Return staff policy: Must be off assignment for 1 year to return as a traveler
• Contract limit: Maximum of 2 contracts (one extension allowed), then must be off for 6 months before returning
• Facility type: Short-term acute care, Level III Trauma Center, Teaching Hospital
• Total staffed beds: 733
• Charting system: Epic
• Scrub colors: Royal blue and white

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of Behavioral Health experience, with Behavioral Health experience within the last year
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical experience
• Telemetry experience
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

• Photo for badge: Professional passport-style photo with solid background, no large earrings, face jewelry, unnatural hair colors, or head coverings (unless religious)
• Background checks and education verifications must be related to specialty; high school diplomas not accepted
• COVID-19 vaccination is not required but documentation is accepted if available
• Facility requires acknowledgment of pass/fail testing and competency exams for certain units
• Modules must be completed prior to start (facility will provide instructions)

Work Environment

• Night shift with 3 twelve-hour shifts per week
• Floating between similar units may be required
• No on-call requirement
• Call-off policy: Up to 2 shifts per 13-week assignment may be called off; all other contracted hours guaranteed

This position is ideal for RNs with at least 2 years of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience who are open to travel assignments, working night shifts, and meeting the facility’s certification and compliance requirements.
