Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Work Schedule

Day shift, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)

Required Experience

Minimum 1 year of Registered Nurse experience
Conscious sedation experience is required
Eye care experience is highly desired

Required Certifications and Licenses

California Registered Nurse License
BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC only
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or ARC only
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA or ARC only

Additional Skills

Epic charting experience

Background and Compliance Requirements

7-year background check within 6 months of start, including SSN trace with all aliases, county searches, nationwide sex offender search, education verification, and FACIS Level 3 screening
Annual updates required for EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and FACIS screenings
Education verification required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to California law)
Physical exam within 1 year of start, including clearance for work
Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (with accommodations for religious exemptions or failed tests)
Immunizations and titers required or proof of immunity for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (series or declination)
- Varicella
Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 90 days of start, renewed annually
Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination required during flu season (Nov 1 – Apr 30)
Respiratory safety clearance required annually
Color blindness exam if applicable (in-person exam only)

Documentation and Compliance

Must complete and sign facility-specific documents prior to start, including:
- Job description review
- Standards of Business Conduct
- Code of Conduct
- Vendor training
- Overpayment refund policy
- Conditional offer of employment attestation
- TB screening questionnaire (signed by candidate and healthcare provider)
- Religious accommodation forms if applicable

Employment History and References

Full 7 years of work history required on application with no gaps
Employment verification for up to 7 years required; gaps over 30 days must be explained
2 professional references required within 3 years for clinical positions

Requirements/Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
Minimum 1 year of OR Circulate experience, with experience within the last year
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
