Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract

Location: Winfield, Illinois

Job Details

• On Call Availability Required: Yes

  • Call time response: 30 minutes
  • On-call schedule: 13.5 hours on weekdays, varies by staff availability
  • Ability to pick on-call days in rotation with team members
• Weekend work required
• Meal break length: 30 minutes

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, including experience within the last year
• ARRT Certification
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist
• Experience with Epic system

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience overall
• At least 1 year experience in a similar role within active interventional cardiac cath, NeuroIR, IR, or EP labs
• Bachelor of Science Degree

Clinical Skills & Procedures

• Special Procedures: Biopsies, CVC, PICC, tunneled HD catheters, post placements, fistulograms, angiograms, paracentesis, thoracentesis, drain placements, ureteral stents, nephrostomy tubes, thrombectomies, thrombolysis, Y-90 treatments, embolizations
• Cath Lab Procedures: Diagnostic and Interventions, IABP, IVUS, IMPELLA
• Special Equipment Experience: Siemens C-Arm (single and bi-plane), GE ultrasound

Contract Length

• 12 weeks

Required Compliance & Documentation

• Current and valid Driver’s License or Government Photo ID with address highly recommended
• 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, including SSN trace, aliases, all counties lived/worked, national and federal criminal, sex offender, OIG, SAM, FACIS 3
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
• Education verification of highest degree completed (minimum accredited Radiology Technologist program)
• State license primary source verification within 30 days of start
• ARRT and IEMA license verification required within 30 days of start
• Competency exam passing score required
• Color blindness test required (score of 70% or higher)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and no physical limitations
• Fit mask test (3M Aura 1870+) within 12 months of start and annually thereafter
• Required immunizations and/or proof of immunity or vaccination:

  • Tdap within 10 years (TD not accepted)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive IgG titer or 2 vaccines with boosters if needed
  • Varicella: Positive IgG titer or 2 vaccines with boosters if needed
  • Hepatitis B vaccine series or positive titer (declinations accepted with signed form)
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
  • COVID-19 initial vaccine series or declination form
• Drug screening: 10-panel within 30 days of start (no instant/dilute results accepted)
• OSHA Respiratory Safety clearance if fit test failed
• Illinois Healthcare Worker Registry fingerprinting and eligibility verification required prior to start (must be done in Illinois)

Additional Requirements

• Employment history covering 7 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days
• Completion of facility-specific training modules and policy acknowledgements prior to start
• Completion of sexual harassment training annually
• Confidentiality, information security, cannabis acknowledgement, and scanning technology consent forms must be signed prior to start
• Accommodation request forms for vaccine or fit test exemptions must be submitted within 24-48 hours of contract signing if applicable
