Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech

Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Must hold certification as R.T. (R)(CT)(ARRT) OR CNMT, NMTCB(CT).
  • Must have both a Nuclear Medicine Technology (NMT) certificate and CT or ARRT(R) certification.
  • May submit application with a pending New Jersey license.
  • Work schedule options: 4x10 hour shifts or 5x8 hour shifts (specify preference).
  • Approximately 2 years of experience preferred.
  • First-time travelers accepted.
  • Work every 3rd weekend; no on-call required.
  • May float to cardiac departments as needed.
  • No block scheduling.
  • Locals accepted.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Experience with a range of exams from diagnostic to therapeutic Nuclear Medicine studies.
  • EPIC charting system used.
  • Experience with GE and Philips Nuclear Medicine cameras.
  • Black scrubs required.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in New Jersey
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • ARRT certification

Schedule

  • 4x10 hour shifts or 5x8 hour shifts (to be specified).
  • Every 3rd weekend required.
  • No on-call duties.

Additional Requirements & Compliance

  • Must clear background checks including criminal, MVR/DMV, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG within 30 days of start.
  • Drug screening required within 30 days of start.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray required.
  • Physical exam within the last 12 months required, confirming ability to perform essential job functions and free of communicable disease.
  • Respiratory medical clearance and on-site fit testing mandatory prior to start.
  • Annual influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required.
  • Various certifications and competencies may be required depending on assignment specifics (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP) — confirm with recruiter.
  • Pass/fail testing for medication and EKG competency exams required within 72 hours of signing contract.
  • Color vision testing required if job tasks involve color discrimination.
  • Employment application or resume with 7 years of work history required.
  • Two professional references required, including at least one managerial reference.
  • Work history verification required for New Jersey candidates (minimum 1 year prior to start).

  • Floating to cardiac departments is part of the role.
