ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Stillwater, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide nursing care in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Minimum of 2 years ICU experience required
• Float to Medical/Surgical and Emergency Department as census fluctuates
• Work every other weekend and holidays
• Night shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:30 to 7:00), totaling 36 hours/week

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma
• Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Required Documents & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• I9 or Attestation form
• Employment Application
• Two professional references within the last 3 years
• Background check: 7-year criminal history covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years, including SS Trace, Counties, Nationwide, Sex Offender, FACIS Level 3
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Drug screening: 10-panel drug test within 1 year of start (Amphetamines, Barbiturates, Benzodiazepines, Cocaine, Opiates, Oxycodone, Marijuana (THC), Methadone, Fentanyl) – no instant tests accepted
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Annual TB testing: 2-step PPD, T-spot, or Q-Gold within 12 months; chest X-ray if positive
• Immunizations/vaccinations or proof of immunity required:

  • Tdap within 10 years (declination acceptable)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: positive titer or proof of 2 vaccines (no declinations accepted)
  • Hepatitis B: positive titer, 3-dose vaccine series, or declination
  • Varicella: positive titer or proof of 2 vaccines (no declinations accepted)
• Seasonal flu vaccination documentation required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31) or signed declination form
• COVID vaccination or signed COVID declination form required
• Completion of facility-specific orientation and compliance documents prior to start, including:

  • Commitment to Excellence Standards review and acknowledgment
  • Staff Orientation and Orientation Checklist
  • Confidentiality and Information Security agreement
  • Flu and COVID medical/religious waiver forms if applicable
• Passport-style photo for badge
• Completion of HealthStream training modules prior to start (2-3 hours, must be completed by Friday before Monday start)

Additional Information

• Fit mask test and color-blind exam will be completed onsite during orientation
• Medication and pharmacology competency exams required as applicable
• Skills checklist must be updated annually
• Candidate must be able to work night shifts and float to other units as needed

Summary

This is a night-shift ICU RN travel contract position in Stillwater, OK requiring at least 2 years of ICU experience, current RN licensure, and certifications in BLS and ACLS. The role includes floating to med/surg and ED units, with every other weekend and holiday shifts. Comprehensive background checks, immunizations, drug screening, and facility-specific compliance are mandatory prior to start.
