Job Opportunity: Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
Location: New Orleans, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Position requires working day shifts: 3 shifts per week, each 12 hours (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM), totaling 36 hours per week.
- Weekend work required every other weekend.
- Holiday work required.
- No call or float requirements.
- Strict 5-day maximum return-to-office (RTO) policy.
- Scrubs color: Gray.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Louisiana
- Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
Clinical Skills & Equipment Experience
- Experience with Nitric Oxide therapy, ECMO, and bedside bronchoscopies.
- Familiarity with ventilators: Puritan Bennett 840 and 980.
- Experience with Bipap: Phillips V60.
- Experience with transport ventilators: Pneutron, Newport, and Parapac.
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID matching all documentation.
- Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years; includes social security trace, nationwide and county checks, sex offender registry, federal exclusions, and FACIS Level 3.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.
- Medication, Dysrhythmia/EKG, and other competency exams required within 12 months of start and updated annually; must score 80% or higher.
- Employment application with 7 years of work history, no gaps over 30 days.
- Drug screening within 30 days of start (10-panel or expanded panel depending on hire date).
- Annual flu vaccination or approved exemption/declination required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31).
- Immunization requirements:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years (declinations accepted with proper documentation).
- Two MMR vaccines or positive titers for measles, mumps, and rubella (boosters required if titers are low).
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination.
- Two Varicella vaccines or positive titer (boosters required if titer is low).
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start; annual TB questionnaire required.
- Physical exam not required by employer but may be required by placement agency.

- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.

- Must comply with employee appearance policy.
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification not required for this specialty.
- Candidates must be prepared for weekend and holiday shifts as specified.
