Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (Night Shift)
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Night (4 shifts of 12 hours each, 18:30–7:00)
- Hours per week: 48 (36 or 48 hour options; hours over 48 are overtime)
- Unit size: 32 beds
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6
- No call required; floating to similar units possible
- Weekend requirement: 6 weekend shifts within 6 weeks
- Charting system: Epic
- Rapid response team activation required
- Unit accepts first-time travel nurses
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
- Minimum 1 year of recent Medical Surgical nursing experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Background and Documentation Requirements
- 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Education verification of highest level completed
- Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation (New Mexico placements only)
- Drivers license or state ID required
- E-Verify or attestation required depending on candidate type
- Photo for badge required
- Employment application/resume required
- 7-year work history verification required
- Unit-specific skills checklist required annually
Additional Information
- Orientation includes safety manual acknowledgement and HIPAA compliance
- No prior travel experience required; first-time travelers accepted
- Must meet all facility-specific health and safety requirements prior to start
This position is ideal for a Medical Surgical RN with at least one year of recent experience, comfortable working nights, and able to meet comprehensive credentialing and health requirements.
