Job Description
- Specialty: Registered Nurse

- Shift: Nights
- Prior travel experience required (No locals)
- Cannot accommodate Easter weekend Return to Office (RTO)
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Louisiana
- Minimum of 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience, with experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA Provider, Instructor, or RQI acceptable
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA Provider, Instructor, or RQI acceptable (required for ICU RNs; verify if applicable)
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (verify with recruiter)
Background and Health Requirements
- Criminal background check (updated if no assignment within last 90 days)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
- Physical exam within 1 year, signed by physician
- Annual respirator fit testing (Fit Mask)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- TB Questionnaire required annually
- 12 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days prior to start
- Influenza vaccination exemptions allowed for medical/religious reasons (documentation required)
- COVID-19 vaccination exemptions allowed for medical/religious reasons (facility-specific forms required)
Additional Requirements
- Copy of valid Driver’s License or State ID
- Completion of competency exams as required by specialty
- References: 2 required
- Completion of facility-specific orientation and training (e.g., Healthstream courses)
Notes
- Candidates must be able to work nights in a General Surgery setting
- Prior travel experience is mandatory; local candidates will not be considered
- Easter weekend time off requests cannot be accommodated
This position is ideal for experienced Medical Surgical RNs with prior travel assignments seeking a 13-week night shift contract in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
