Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Tech

Location: Seattle, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 26 weeks


Job Details

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Interventional Radiology Tech)
  • Shift: 4 x 10-hour day shifts, rotating weekdays
  • On-Call: 1-2 call shifts per week and 1 weekend call per month (weekend call required)
  • Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty (higher value applied)
  • Pediatric Experience: Preferred but not required; adult experience will be considered
  • First-Time Travelers: Accepted
  • Locals: Accepted, no radius restrictions
  • Orientation: No return to origin within first two weeks due to orientation
  • Guaranteed Hours: Yes
  • Block Schedule: Not accommodated

Job Responsibilities / Procedures

  • Interventional Radiology experience required
  • Pediatric IR experience preferred
  • Procedures include:
    • Limited Neuro interventions (Peds)
    • Line placements, lumbar punctures, biopsies, drain placements, GJ tubes
    • Angiograms, angioplasty, stenting, embolizations, thrombectomy/lysis

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Washington
  • Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
  • ARRT Radiography (R) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Required Certifications and Licenses

  • Pending License: May be accepted if application process has been initiated

Additional Requirements

  • Background check including 7-year criminal history and other state/federal checks
  • Physical exam within 1 year
  • Fit test for respirator use (N95 or CAPR/PAPR) required, valid for entire assignment
  • Immunizations and health documents required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination
    • Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination or declination
    • Drug screening (12-panel minimum) within 1 year
    • Flu vaccine or declination during flu season
  • Competency exams including medication/pharmacology and EKG/dysrhythmia testing (time sensitive)
  • Skills checklists as applicable
  • Photo for badge on blue background required within 72 hours of contract signing

  • Scrub color: Any color or T-shirt top, must be age-appropriate and kid-friendly

Notes

  • Candidates must complete required online modules prior to start (approx. 8 hours)
  • Respiratory protection training provided via facility platform
  • Meal waiver agreement available but not mandatory unless waiving second meal period
  • No block scheduling or radius restrictions for locals
  • Orientation and onboarding require no return to origin within first two weeks

This position is ideal for Interventional Radiology Technologists with at least 2 years of experience, preferably with pediatric exposure, who are comfortable with on-call responsibilities and working in a pediatric teaching hospital environment.
