Job Opportunity: Echo Tech Cardiac Sonographer Pediatrics

Location: Los Angeles, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 16 weeks

Job Description

• Work schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am to 5pm, 5 days a week (5x8 shifts) with one hour lunch
• On-call: May be required once a month depending on full-time staff availability
• Specialty: Pediatric echocardiography and/or fetal echocardiography

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in pediatric echocardiography and/or fetal echocardiography
• Certifications:

  • ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Current and valid Driver’s License or government-issued photo ID
• Background checks including social security trace, criminal history, sex offender search, and others as required within 30 days of start
• Education verification (diploma or official transcripts)
• Required health documents including physical exam, immunizations, TB test, drug screening, and others as applicable
• References: 2 required, supervisor level or above, with at least one reference within the last year
• Employment application covering last 7 years with explanations for gaps of 30 days or more
• Work history verification for last 5 years

Certifications & Competencies (may be required or preferred depending on unit)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – for applicable nursing roles
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – preferred for pediatric units
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – for nursery, NICU, L&D nursing roles
• Other certifications as applicable to specialty and unit

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Completion of facility-specific onboarding documents and training modules prior to start, including:

  • HIPAA training and acknowledgment
  • Harassment prevention training (California mandated)
  • Confidentiality agreement
  • Access request forms
  • Photo ID for badge
  • Abuse reporting acknowledgments (elder, child, domestic)
  • Annual education and safety training modules
• Proof of completion certificates required for all mandatory trainings
• Compliance with facility policies including IT and employee health questionnaires as applicable

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Immunizations and titers for measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis B, tetanus/diphtheria/Tdap, flu vaccination (or declination)
• Negative TB test (QGold) within 1 year of start
• COVID-19 vaccine or declination form as per facility policy (vaccine dose after 9/12/2023 required or declination accepted)
• Drug screening (9 panel) within 12 months of start
