Job Opportunity: Speech Language Pathologist
Location: Plymouth, Michigan
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: Approximately 6 weeks (45 days)
Work Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Caseload: 58 middle school students
Assignment Dates: ASAP through May 13th, with possible extension through June 10th
Job Description
Provide speech-language pathology services to middle school students in a school setting.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Michigan Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license in hand
- ASHA Certification (CCC-SLP) required
- Experience working with middle school-aged children preferred
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
Candidates must provide and maintain the following:
- Government-issued photo ID (unexpired)
- Background checks including criminal history and various federal/state checks (within 1 year and updated annually)
- Fingerprint clearance as required by the school and state (candidate cannot start while fingerprints are in process)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (updated annually)
- Mandatory Reporter Training (updated annually)
- Educational Services State Teaching Certificate and verification as applicable
- Employment history check specific to Michigan (completed prior to start)
- Various accounting and tax documents as required
Additional Notes
- Physical exam, drug testing, and certain immunizations (e.g., flu, TB, measles) are only required if specified by the client or state.
- Fingerprint clearance and background checks are critical and must comply with Michigan state and school district requirements.
- Candidates should be prepared to complete all required documentation and verifications prior to start date.
This position is ideal for licensed Speech Language Pathologists seeking a short-term travel assignment in an educational setting working with middle school students.
