Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Providence, Rhode Island
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Rotating Nights/Days (3 shifts of 12 hours nights, then 3 shifts of 12 hours days)
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
• Patient Age Group: Adults
• Preferred Patient Diagnoses: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents
• Unit Focus: COPD, Asthma, Critical Care, Emergency Care
• Special Equipment: Ventilators (Servo I required)
• Electronic Documentation: Preferred experience with Meditech

Required Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
• Rhode Island State License

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Rhode Island
• Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Airway management skills including:

  • Direct Intubation
  • Estuation
  • Nasal Airway Placement & Suctioning
  • Oropharyngeal Suctioning
  • Tracheostomy Suctioning
• Medication administration experience with:

  • Albuterol
  • Racemic Epinephrine
  • Preformist
• Aerosol therapy setup including:

  • Trach Aerosol Setup
  • T-Piece Nebulizer

Dress Code

• Scrubs of any color

Additional Requirements

• Government issued photo ID
• Emergency contact form prior to start
• Background checks including fingerprinting (specific to Rhode Island)
• Annual health and competency documentation including:

  • Physical exam within 1 year
  • Immunizations (Tdap, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Flu vaccine or declination during flu season)
  • TB testing (2 negative tests or chest x-ray)
  • Drug screening
  • Respiratory safety clearance
• Completion of facility-specific onboarding and confidentiality agreements prior to start
• Professional references (2 for travel/allied/per diem acute care) within 3 years

Notes

• ACLS certification required for ER and RRT candidates
• PALS, NRP, TNCC certifications preferred or required as applicable
• Prior travel experience is not required for this position
