Job Description

• Patient Population: Adolescents to Geriatrics
• Unit: Neuro/Stroke Progressive Care Unit (PCU) floor
• Patient Care: Respiratory, cardiac, mixed medical cases; titrating cardiac drips with continuous telemetry monitoring
• Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Beds: 36 beds with an average daily census of 30
• Systems Used: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR
• Scheduling: No block scheduling; every other weekend required
• Floating: Yes, within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Call: None
• Holidays: Expected to work major holidays if they fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
• Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU), specifically Neuro/Stroke PCU floor experience within the last year
• Experience titrating cardiac drips with continuous telemetry monitoring
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification or competency

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days prior to start, including education verification
• Education Verification: Degree related to nursing required; can be pending at start with proof of processing
• Physical Exam: Required within 12 months prior to start
• Immunizations & Health Screenings:

  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months
  • TB Questionnaire (updated annually)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination
  • Flu vaccination or declination (required during flu season)
• Drug Screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days prior to start
• References: Two clinical references required
• Skills Checklist: Updated within 12 months
• Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof of processing

• Orientation: Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length
• Locals accepted at same rate
• Full compliance required to start on time; delays in compliance may result in assignment pushback
