Job Description
- Patient Population: Adolescents to Geriatrics
- Unit: Neuro/Stroke Progressive Care Unit (PCU) floor
- Patient Care: Respiratory, cardiac, mixed medical cases; titrating cardiac drips with continuous telemetry monitoring
- Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Beds: 36 beds with an average daily census of 30
- Systems Used: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR
- Scheduling: No block scheduling; every other weekend required
- Floating: Yes, within facility and scope of practice as needed
- Call: None
- Holidays: Expected to work major holidays if they fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU), specifically Neuro/Stroke PCU floor experience within the last year
- Experience titrating cardiac drips with continuous telemetry monitoring
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification or competency
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days prior to start, including education verification
- Education Verification: Degree related to nursing required; can be pending at start with proof of processing
- Physical Exam: Required within 12 months prior to start
- Immunizations & Health Screenings:
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months
- TB Questionnaire (updated annually)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination
- Flu vaccination or declination (required during flu season)
- Drug Screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days prior to start
- References: Two clinical references required
- Skills Checklist: Updated within 12 months
- Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof of processing

- Scrub Color: Navy Blue
- Orientation: Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length
- Locals accepted at same rate
- Full compliance required to start on time; delays in compliance may result in assignment pushback
