Job Description

• Provide nursing care on a 7N Med/Surg, Oncology, Telemetry, Progressive Care unit with high acuity.
• Experience with bone marrow transplant (BMT) patients required.
• Patient diagnoses include hematology-oncology, oncology, bone marrow transplant, and medical/surgical cases.
• Float ability required to other care areas, including Med/Surg and Med/Surg Telemetry patients.
• Every other weekend shift required.
• Must be able to perform EKG exams.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Minimum 1 year of Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) experience within the last year.
• Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Biotherapy Certification or ONS Immunotherapy Certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

Certifications & Competencies

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred
• EKG/Dysrhythmia competency exam required
• ONS Biotherapy or Immunotherapy certification
• Epic experience required

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Negative drug screen within 12 months of start.
• Physical exam within 1 year indicating good health.
• TB test (PPD, Qgold, or TSPOT) within 12 months; chest x-ray within 5 years if positive PPD.
• Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required annually.
• COVID vaccination series preferred.
• OSHA Respirator Clearance required prior to start for fit testing.
• Fit testing completed onsite during orientation; must be clean-shaven for fit test.
• Background check within 12 months including SSN trace, 7-year county residence/work history, nationwide search, and sex offender search.
• State-specific background checks required for Missouri.

• Candidates must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity oncology and transplant environment.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.

This position is ideal for experienced oncology RNs with bone marrow transplant experience who are comfortable working in a progressive care setting and have strong clinical and EHR skills.
