Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - MS/Tele Float

Location: Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Job Description

• Float Pool position: Nurse will float to Medical-Surgical (MS) units, Telemetry units, and Rehab as needed.
• Schedule: 3 shifts of 12 hours at night, every other week (EOW).
• Candidate will undergo clinical screening to determine fit before final manager interview.
• May care for COVID-19 patients.
• Tobacco and fragrance-free facility.
• Expected to work some weekends (likely every other week) and 1 of 2 major holidays (July 4 or Memorial Day).

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing, with experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

Certifications & Competencies

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or ARC provider.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required depending on unit.
• Other certifications (PALS, NRP, TNCC) as applicable per unit.
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exams as required.
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required (pass/fail).

Background & Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check required within 30 days of start; updated annually.
• Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search required within 1 year of start; must be finalized prior to start.
• FBI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; candidate may start with results pending but must have results on file within 45 days.
• Employment verification, education verification, and professional references required.
• Drug screening (9-panel) required within 1 year of start.
• Child Abuse History Clearance (PA Childline) required within 5 years; candidate may start with results pending but must have results on file within 45 days.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NP.
• Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days of start; PPD not accepted.
• Required immunizations or positive titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer or full vaccine series plus declination if applicable)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season; medical or religious exemptions accepted with documentation.
• COVID-19 vaccine or approved exemption/declination accepted.
• Respiratory safety clearance required annually.

Additional Information

• Candidate must provide a professional, passport-style photo for badge.
• Must review and sign facility-specific documents including Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, Commitment to Health & Wellness, and Non-Employee Affidavit.
• New hire orientation and online learning modules required prior to or on first day.
• Floating assignments may include MS, Telemetry, and Rehab units.
• Tobacco and fragrance-free environment.
