Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse
Location: Clinton, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Position: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)
- Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, 1830-0700
- Call Requirement: 36 hours in 6 weeks or 12 hours per pay period; must be on premises within 45 minutes of call
- Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Every other weekend and every other holiday required
- Float Requirement: Must float within skillset (Mom/Baby, postpartum, etc.)
- High-risk Labor & Delivery experience required
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC certified
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- C-EFM (Certified Electronic Fetal Monitoring) through NCC required at submission; AWHONN accepted as placeholder if registering for C-EFM course
- STABLE certification required
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Maryland
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with high-risk Labor and Delivery patients
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NRP certification
- Certified Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM)
- STABLE certification
Additional Requirements
- Criminal background check within 90 days of start, including multi-state searches
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Immunizations and health documentation including:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
- Documentation of MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) and Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
- Competency exams including medication/pharmacology and EKG/dysrhythmia testing as applicable
- Annual completion of facility-specific orientation and safety modules
Work Environment
- Must be able to float to related units such as Mom/Baby and postpartum
- Call and weekend/holiday coverage required
- Must maintain compliance with all facility-required certifications and competencies
This position offers an opportunity to work in a high-acuity Labor and Delivery setting with a supportive team environment. Ideal candidates are experienced L&D nurses with required certifications and flexibility for call and floating duties.
