Job Opportunity: RN Medical/Surgical (Travel)

Location: Nashville, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit & Patient Information

• Unit Capacity: 23 Beds
• Population Served: Patients with acute medical/surgical disease processes requiring observation or inpatient acute care admission
• Patient Age Range: Young Adult through Late Adult (18 - 60+)
• Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:6

Staffing & Responsibilities

• Core staffing includes Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), Nurse Interns (NIs)
• RN assumes full responsibility for patients on each team

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (must be AHA)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification (must be AHA)
• Current nursing license with Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
• License/Certificate verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Driver’s License/State ID (must be valid and match address requirements)

Required Exams, Testing & Competencies

• Successful completion of a proctored rhythm test
• Ascension Medical Surgical Exam (minimum 80% score, 2 attempts allowed)
• Ascension EKG Exam (minimum 80% score, 2 attempts allowed)
• Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; minimum 80% score, 2 attempts allowed)
• Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical skills; completed within 1 year of start, updated annually)
• Ascension Cerner Test-Out
• Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen (within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted
• Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, serological immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider; no declinations accepted
• Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted
• Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination
• Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted but mask required
• Fit Test: Required annually; preferred prior to start
• TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year, and annual TB questionnaire
• Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually

Background & Verification Requirements

• Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender (within 30 days of first assignment, updated annually)
• Employment Verification (past 7 years, updated annually)
• Education Verification (within 90 days of start)
• Professional References: At least two professional references prior to first assignment
• Ascension EPLS check (within 90 days of start)
