Job Description
Seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery with experience in a high-volume delivery service.
Required Credentials:
- Registered Nurse Texas license
- BLS Provider certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)
- Advanced Life Support (AHA or American Red Cross accepted)
- Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Certification
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery/Perinatal experience in a high-volume delivery service
Education:
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited school/college of nursing
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of Perinatal clinical experience in a high-volume delivery service
- S.T.A.B.L.E Program certification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certification
Onboarding and Compliance Requirements
Licenses and Certifications (Must be current and verifiable):
- Texas RN License (Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start)
- BLS (AHA required)
- ACLS (AHA required)
- NRP (AAP/AHA required)
- Advanced Life Support
- Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Certification
Testing and Competency:
- Specialty Exam (minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years)
- Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; minimum 80% score, updated yearly)
- Cerner Test-Out and Training Checklist with signed attestation
- Skills Checklist (clinical, updated annually)
Health and Immunization Requirements:
- MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive titer (no declinations accepted)
- Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider (no declinations accepted)
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
- Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Fit Test: Required for all travelers, preferred before start
- 2-Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) with annual TB questionnaire
- Positive PPD requires negative chest X-ray within 1 year and annual TB questionnaire
- Health Statement or physical exam prior to assignment, updated annually
- 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
Professional Documentation:
- Resume/Profile
- Two professional references
- Criminal Background Check (including SSN trace, employment verification, OIG search, national sex offender registry) updated annually
- Employment Verification for past 7 years, updated annually
- Education Verification relevant to clinical work, updated if break in service > 90 days
- Confirmation of Assignment documentation upon initial assignment and extensions
Additional Onboarding Requirements:
- Onboarding education attestation (6 hours pre-hire training)
- Nursing contract worker onboarding (completed onsite)
- Pre-hire modules for non-allied positions
- Color Vision test (updated every 3 years)
- Driver’s License/State ID (must be current and match address requirements)
- EPLS check (updated if break in service > 90 days)
