Registered Nurse - Telemetry I
Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
Job Summary
- Provide direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans; observe, record, and communicate patient conditions.
- Coordinate care among all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care.
- Execute physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning with the healthcare team.
- Work requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work independently in a stressful environment.
- Follow Standard Precautions and use personal protective equipment as required.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license with Nursys verification completed within 30 days prior to assignment start.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience in Telemetry (based on specialty requirement).
- Completion of professional references (at least two) prior to first assignment.
- Valid, unexpired Driver’s License or State ID matching address on file.
Required Certifications and Exams (Must be completed prior to or at onboarding)
- Pharmacology Exam (minimum 80% score, updated every 3 years).
- Specialty Exam in Telemetry (minimum 80% score, updated every 3 years).
- EKG Exam (minimum 80% score, updated every 3 years).
- Core Competencies covering HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics (minimum 80% score, updated every 3 years).
- NIH Certification (updated yearly or every 2 years depending on group).
- Cerner Test-Out and Training Checklist with signed attestation.
- Color Vision Test (updated every 3 years).
- Skills Checklist for specialty (completed within one year of start; updated annually).
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Proof of two MMR vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted).
- Proof of two Varicella vaccines, serological immunity, or documented history (no declinations accepted).
- Tdap vaccination valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted).
- Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination.
- Influenza vaccine recommended during flu season (exemptions accepted with mask requirement).
- 2-Step PPD or IGRA testing with negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire if applicable.
- Fit Test for respiratory protection (preferred prior to start; updated annually).
- Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
- 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually.
Additional Onboarding Requirements
- Signed Assignment Agreement (prior to onboarding).
- Completion of onboarding education attestation and nursing contract worker onboarding onsite.
- Pre-hire modules including Nova StatStrip.
- Badge photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations).
- Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and other required screenings within 90 days of start.
- Employment and education verifications completed within 90 days of start and updated annually or after breaks in service.
- Confirmation of assignment documentation on agency letterhead with accurate start and end dates.
