Pediatric ICU RN (PICU)

Assignment Overview

Location: Austin, Texas
Employment Type: LTA
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 06:45 - 19:15

Unit and Assignment

Unit: PICU, a 24-bed high-acuity, fast-paced ICU in a central location at a Level 1 Trauma Center
Case Mix: Neurology, renal, pulmonary, surgical, and medical ICU patients
Second Location: 12-bed PICU
Float Scope: Floats to all areas when needed, including CVICU
Dress Code: Navy scrubs; pediatric print tops allowed

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Texas
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing
Critical Care Float experience of 2 years, with experience within the last year
PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care) experience
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Valid driver's license

Unit-specific checklist, to be uploaded by unit leader within one week
Legal name change documentation, if applicable
Optional software test-out with signed attestation
